Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for IT-related issues, including software, hardware and networking.
- Manage and maintain user accounts, permissions and access control across systems (active directory, email systems, etc).
- Monitor system performance and assist in routine maintenance tasks (patching, updates, backups).
- Assist in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices.
- Support software installations, updates and configurations.
- Help implement and monitor IT security measures (eg. antivirus, firewall policies, MFA).
- Document support activities, user requests and technical procedures.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff for escalated issues and larger infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
Skills
-
- Basic understanding of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365 and basic networking (IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware, software and connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of IT security principles (password management, user authentication, antivirus).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a technical environment.
- Attention to detail and strong documentation habits.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hype-V)
- Interest or basic experience in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or pursuing).
- 0-2 years of experience in an IT support or system administration role (internship experience acceptable).
- Certifications such as Comp TIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Google IT Supports are a plus.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote desktop tools in an advantage.
